  THE THUNDER GOD’S CHALLENGE

In the ancient Slavic lands, where mighty rivers carved through vast forests and storms ruled the skies, Perun, the god of thunder and war, watched over his people. His hammer crackled with lightning, and his chariot roared like a tempest as he rode across the heavens.

One day, a mighty serpent named Veles slithered up from the underworld, seeking to steal Perun’s sacred cattle and bring chaos to the mortal world. Disguised as a shadow among the trees, Veles moved silently, slipping past Perun’s watchful eye. But the moment the first bolt of lightning struck the earth, the people knew—the Thunderer had discovered the thief.

With a deafening roar, Perun hurled bolts of lightning at the serpent, chasing him through the sky. Veles slithered into rivers, hid beneath mountains, and sought refuge in the darkest forests, but no place was safe from the god’s wrath. Again and again, Perun’s lightning struck, forcing Veles to flee until, at last, the serpent emerged from his hiding place.

With one final thunderous strike, Perun’s hammer found its mark, and Veles fell from the heavens, crashing into the underworld where he belonged. The rain ceased, the skies cleared, and balance was restored once more. The people of the land rejoiced, knowing that as long as Perun watched over them, no darkness could ever prevail.

ИСТОРИЯ ПЕРУНА И ВЕЛЕСА

ВЫЗОВ БОГА ГРОМА

В древних славянских землях, где могучие реки прорезали огромные леса, а бури правили небесами, Перун, бог грома и войны, присматривал за своим народом. Его молот трещал молниями, а его колесница ревела, как буря, когда он ехал по небесам.

Однажды могучий змей по имени Велес выскользнул из подземного мира, пытаясь украсть священный скот Перуна и принести хаос в мир смертных. Замаскированный под тень среди деревьев, Велес двигался бесшумно, проскользнув мимо бдительного ока Перуна. Но в тот момент, когда первая молния ударила в землю, люди поняли — Громовержец обнаружил вора.

С оглушительным ревом Перун швырнул молнии в змея, преследуя его по небу. Велес скользил в реки, прятался под горами и искал убежища в самых темных лесах, но не было места, безопасного от гнева бога. Снова и снова ударяла молния Перуна, заставляя Велеса бежать, пока, наконец, змей не вылез из своего укрытия.

С одним последним громовым ударом молот Перуна нашел свою цель, и Велес упал с небес, врезавшись в подземный мир, где ему и место. Дождь прекратился, небеса прояснились, и равновесие снова было восстановлено. Люди земли возрадовались, зная, что пока Перун присматривает за ними, никакая тьма не сможет победить.
